What are "Cookies"? [OLD Topic]
Arcademan:
Here's an example:
Name: hoshisenshi
Position: Newbie
Cookies: 6
Date Registered: Yesterday at 08:31:29 AM
Joins up yesterday and already has 6 cookies?!!
Sakaki:
Well, many of those cookies came from exceptional artwork that they put up.
And they were exceptional for a newbie, actually posting intelligently and being very friendly. They made friends quickly.
And, I see people get cookies for artwork all the time.
I do see what you are saying though, Arcademan.
Cookies should also be given for what people have contributed to the forums over long periods of time. That kind of thing just doesn't seem to be recognized as much. I always thought that people who have been on consistantly and post helpfully over a period of time should get cookies.
Miss Jenni-Maie:
I never got cookies for my artwork....I think. And I've been here since April! Not that, that makes any difference.
Not that I especially care about the cookie system, but I do agree with Arcademan. It is a bit crazy.
Arcademan:
Now I'm getting 'pity' cookies. Oy!!!
Little Wolf:
I do understand your point Arcademan. :)
I forgot to verify this but I've taken away already the feature of "eating cookies" so only admins (and mods too, I guess) can do that now. So the problem with cookie-stealing is already solved. Now, we have cookie-giving problems!
Okay, so if I take the same action and restrict giving cookies to admins/mods then that would solve the problem easily. Of course!
SLi and I will think about this. But if you ask me...I think restricting it is the best solution. The only thing that prevents me from doing so at this time is the Shop. Don't worry, I will explain on my next post.
