i think because they threw the whole "GAIA" idea in they thought they could somehow pass it off as Fantasy....

But I found out too much of the plot....so I feel I've ruined it for myself.
Like, I know who the wheelchair guy is....and what the 3 gray haired guys are up to...and other little details that I can't mention without spoiling it to everyone....
Pssh, I've spoiled it for myself.....
