The Vision of Escaflowne

<< < (4/7) > >>

Cardcaptor Takato:
To be honest, I really didn't care for Escaflowne all that much.  It was a pretty good series and I don't regret watching it, but it didn't draw me into its universe any and I didn't get attached to any of the characters at all.  However, the storyline was interesting, even if the ending to the TV show was confusing as heck, and the animation was pretty good too, despite the weird noses.  Please forgive me for this, but the more I watch the movie version of Escaflowne, the more I start to like it better than the series.  I don't know why I like it more, but I thought the characters were more interesting in the movie, especially Hitomi who was too stereotypical of an anime heroine in the TV series for my tastes, although I do miss her psychic powers from the series.  The animation in the movie was really good too, likewise so was the music, and the characters looked a lot hotter in the movie, especially Van and Allen.  Still, nothing quite beats the Escaflowne shounen manga, which is just awesome, but I had to get adjusted to the new character designs.  I really have been enjoying reading the manga a lot though, and I really want to read the rest of it.  It's too bad they couldn't have made another anime series that took the same route as the shounen manga.  I wonder if Tokyopop will ever license the Escaflowne shoujo manga....

Spirit0:
Wow, Cardcaptor Takato, you view everything complete backwards from what we all think ^^'. But that's okay. I have all of the shounen manga. At first, I was like "WHAT THE CRAP IS THIS?!" but it grew on me (because it actualy progressively got better o.O) Heh, I like Van in the series, movie, and shounen manga. (And yeah, I think Tokyopop or SOMEONE should license the shoujo manga!)

Yubiwa = main reason I bought the movie soundtrack  :haha:

Heeeeeeeey, you guys make it seem like Hitomi and Van didn't realize their love for each other till the very, very end. But wasn't it like.... episode 24 when they actually admitted it? (When Hitomi goes back to Earth and keeps seeing Van's feathers; and Van sulks around more than usual on Gaea. And they desperately try to find one another.)

lika-chi:
well hitomi didn't know until the very end.. i mean like that was the WHOLE point.. but van started having feelings for hitomi a LONG time ago.. remember when allen and hitomi were kissing?? haha

the manga was weird.. i saw the cover and i'm like oo what's this and i saw the title.. i was like ESCAFLOWNE?!?!?! i read a bit and i'm didn't like it much..

in my point of view.. the series was too short.. haha.. 26 episodes??!?! at least give me a season 2 or something.. LMAO!

Ruby Chan:
I dunno...it seemed like a nice finsihing point, and I thikn it would be ruined if any more were made....and Hitomi really didn't realise until the end (like Sakura form CCS), even though she was already in lvoe with him. And Van...well, he wasn't exactly going to amdit it early on and risk a rebuff, was he?

fisah:
Proud, that one, eh?

I love them regardless or the frustation I went through, but 26 episodes was nice, but it would be intersting to see how well it did go if it went longer.

If you think this anime is frustrating, watch Inuyasha 167 episodes and no confession in sight, only to themselves though.

GRR, that trials of anime romance >.<
