1 -- MADISON RAYNE & KO tag champions SARITA & ROSITA vs. KO champion MICKIE JAMES & TARA & MISS TESSMACHER

Prior to the match, the announcers recapped events at Sacrifice when Tara helped Mickie defeat Madison. Also prior to the match, Hernandez and Anarquia came out on-stage in support of Sarita & Rosita before joining commentary. The match built to Tara getting her hands on Madison, then the action broke down in and out of the ring. Suddenly, it came down to Tara, Madison, and Rosita. So, Madison threw Rosita to Tara, who delivered a sit-out bomb for the win. Madison then high-tailed it to the outside to taunt Tara that she can't get her.

WINNERS: Team Tara at 4:19. Simple build-up for the next phase of Tara and Madison's feud. Mickie doesn't have a clear next opponent for the Knockouts Title, though. (*)

2 -- X Division champion KAZARIAN vs. ABYSS -- X Division Title match

The bell sounded and Tenay re-stressed this could be the final X Division Title match. Taz said he agrees with Bischoff the X Division wrestlers need to get out of Bischoff's face. Tenay defended the X Division as a cornerstone of TNA since its inception. The match started and the announcers focused on Bischoff getting in the ring again. "Impact Wrestling: Where Bischoff Matters." Tenay continued to talk up the X Division's roots in TNA while Taz said he believes the X Division guys went about this the wrong way.

In the ring, Kazarian scored a missile dropkick that put both men on the mat. Kaz followed with a huracanrana and springboard back-elbow smash for a two count. Abyss and Kaz traded nearfalls with the crowd mic'ed up to sound very invested in the action. Abyss then caught Kaz with the Shock Treatment, but missed with a corner Vader Bomb. Abyss favored his right knee and the referee demanded Kaz give Abyss some space. Abyss then suckered Kaz in with a boot to the face before landing the Black Hole Slam. Abyss with the cover and the win. Taz wondered aloud about the future of the X Division. Tenay noted Abyss out-smarted Kazarian. Taz weirdly said the Internet is burning up right now. Does TNA think this is like Christian dropping the title after two days? Tenay then wondered if there will even be an X Division anymore after this. Cut to commercial.

WINNER: Abyss at 5:02 to capture the X Division Title. Strike Two... Does TNA think there's interest in an X Division "brand" that general viewers would care if it's here or not? It's about individual feuds with interesting wrestlers striving for goals and championships competing against each other. This whole angle is merely a small-minded attempt by TNA to play to the audience that follows the product closely through the Internet. (*1/2)

3 -- SAMOA JOE vs. AMAZING RED

Red charged Joe, who threw Red across the ring. Joe pounded on Red as Taz noted this is part of Bischoff's plan to destroy the X Division. Meanwhile, Tenay said Kaz is being checked for a back injury after the title match. Joe then nailed the Muscle buster and pinned Red in under one minute.

Post-match: Crimson hit the ring and the fight was on between Joe and Crimson. The bell continued to sound, then Crimson easily lifted Joe up for a t-bone suplex that cleared Joe to the outside. The announcers briefly noted the brotherly storyline relationship between Red and Crimson.

WINNER: Joe at 0:49. One step forward, one step backward for Joe, who looked good in the squash, then looked conquerable with how easily Crimson handled him in the post-match. (n/a)

4 -- ERIC BISCHOFF & MATT HARDY vs. GENERATION ME (MAX BUCK & JEREMY BUCK)

Jackson James (unacknowledged son of Eric) was the referee here. Is there a likable babyface in this match for viewers to root for? GenMe started things off working on Hardy's left arm. Jeremy taunted the non-wrestler, Eric, who pointed at him from the ring apron. Hardy then executed the side effect on Jeremy for a one count. Eric said he wants to finish them off, so Hardy landed another side effect. Hardy then locked in a cravate looking to wear down Jeremy, who fought back, allowing GenMe to double-team Hardy. Taz continued to side with Bischoff as Hardy fought off a two-on-one to resume control of the match. The announcers continued to focus on themselves before Jeremy came off the top with a big splash to Hardy's back for a nearfall.

Tenay suddenly got excited and relayed some information for next week that a big wrestling main event is going down...actually, two non-wrestlers, Hogan and Foley, will both be returning to the show next week. In the ring, Hardy slapped the Ice Pick on Max to wear him down, then tagged in Bischoff for his first appearance in the match. Bischoff measured Max and attempted a roundhouse kick, then another martial arts kick. Careful editing here. Bischoff made the cover on Max and scored a five count for the win. Bischoff, Hardy, and Jackson then stood tall center-ring as Tenay asked if that was the final bullet in the X Division.

WINNERS: Bischoff & Hardy at 6:09.

5 -- ANGELINA LOVE & WINTER vs. VELVET SKY -- handicap match

It's worth noting TNA hasn't announced a main event yet for this week's first official show in the Impact Wrestling era. The crowd tried to rally behind underdog Velvet throughout the match as she faced tough odds. Angelina, whose weakness as a person in a trance is she can't focus on the task at hand, lost control of the match, allowing Velvet to score a quick pin. After the match, a mystery woman suddenly jumped Velvet. It was a returning ODB, who choked her out ringside.

WINNER: Velvet at 4:36.

1 -- TYSON KIDD (w/Michael Hayes) vs. YOSHI TATSU

Yoshi recovered from the pre-match attack and cleared Kidd to the outside two minutes in. The ref remained heavily mic'ed shouting instructions to Hayes to back it up, then Yoshi delivered a big splash on the outside. On the floor, though, Kidd recovered and delivered a kick strike to the chest. Hayes found himself on the ring apron and started doing his strut. They cut to break with Kidd in control.

Back from break, Yoshi appeared to be asleep locked in a neck vice on the mat. Yoshi fought back to his feet, scored a sudden nearfall to give the fans some hope, then Kidd cut him off to resume the attack. Hayes continued to get involved by antagonizing Yoshi and the ref. Announcer Korpela was incensed - incensed! - by Hayes's constant involvement, demanding the higher-ups do something about this. Yoshi suddenly scored a nearfall with a crucifix pin, but Kidd avoided a follow-up dropkick and went back on the attack.

Kidd then lost control at 7:00 and Hayes tried to shout instructions at Kidd to get moving again. Yoshi then fired off a round of chops followed by a flying roundhouse kick to the head. Yoshi made the cover, but it was only good for a two count. Hayes then threw down his jacket in disgust and shouted at the ref he was quick-counting. Yoshi then went up top and Kidd crotched him. Hayes told Kidd to take it home, and Kidd executed a superplex. Hayes had a big smile on his face, but Yoshi kicked out of a pin attempt, drawing a frown from Hayes.

Kidd then stepped into the Sharpshooter and sat down on the hold center-ring. Yoshi found something extra in the tank and crawled to the bottom rope for a break. Kidd regrouped and went for a splash across the apron, but Yoshi moved out of the way. Suddenly, Yoshi countered an Owen Hart-style backwards roll-up into a small package for a nearfall, then popped up to his feet and nailed his kick strike finisher for the pin and the win.

Post-match: Hayes frowned at Yoshi as he left the ring, then entered the ring to share some words of encouragement for Kidd. Perhaps not, as Hayes picked up Kidd, then slapped him across the face. Hayes picked up his jacket and left the ring, telling Kidd he failed him and he has better things to do. Kidd sold anger as Hayes left to the back.

WINNER: Yoshi at 10:01. Very good ten-minute "TV" match. Superstars's quality of wrestling has certainly improved since being bounced from WGN. It will be interesting to see if WWE keeps the Kidd-Hayes thing going or if this was the end of the managerial experiment. (**1/2)

2 -- MAJOR BROSKIS (ZACK RYDER & CURT HAWKINS) vs. SANTINO & KOZLOV

The announcers noted last week's events when Ryder picked up a win over Kozlov with Hawkins's help, reuniting the tandem. Before ref Nunzio called for the bell, the two teams teased a little skirmish at mid-field during warm-ups, but they were separated to formally begin the match. Santino taunted Hawkins with the Cobra, then delivered a sambo-style takeover. Kozlov tagged in and followed with his own version. Kozlov then shoulder-blocked Hawkins clear through the ropes to the floor. Ryder complained about his Broski partner struggling in the ring as they cut to break.

Back from break, the Broskis were magically in control of the action working over Kozlov. The Broskis continued to work over Kozlov as Scott Stanford noted the match he's most looking forward to at Over the Limit is Cole vs. Lawler. Yes, announcers > entire roster. Santino took a hot tag at 5:00, then the action broke down. Santino delivered the sailor's salute fist drop on Hawkins, then warmed up the Cobra and delivered it. Santino with the pin on Hawkins for the win.

WINNERS: Santino & Kozlov at 5:33. Basic babyface revenge match for Team Kozlov after events last week. And perhaps new material for Ryder on YouTube being partnered again with the weaker link of the Major Bros. team. (*)

3 -- EVAN BOURNE vs. DREW MCINTYRE

Bourne with some early mat wrestling on the much-larger McIntyre, who grabbed a headlock to wear down Bourne before delivering a clothesline. Mac then placed Bourne on the top rope, slowly backed away, and suddenly found Bourne flying at him with a rolling takeover. Mac slipped to the floor to pound the announce table in frustration, then he returned to the ring. McIntyre took a head scissors, but then knocked Bourne to the outside. They cut to break with Mac in control.

Back from break, McIntyre continued to wear down Bourne while flashing his sinister grin. Mac checked the imaginary watch on his wrist to indicate it's time to end it before delivering a terrific delayed vertical superplex. Mac was too cocky making the cover, allowing Bourne to kick out. On the apron, Mac wanted a running move of sorts, but Bourne slipped out and Mac ate the ring steps. Mathews noted he had no idea what McIntyre was looking for there.

Back in the ring, Bourne scored with multiple kick strikes for a two count. Mac recovered in the corner, then the director cut to a corner shot as Bourne came flying into the corner with a basement dropkick. Bourne wanted Air Bourne, but Mac slipped to the outside, and Bourne splashed him on the floor. Back in the ring, Mac blocked a huracanrana attempt into a running buckle bomb. Mac followed right up with the Future Shock DDT for the win. Mac took in the win, then quickly left the ring to taunt the crowd as Stanford signed off for this week.

WINNER: McIntyre at 6:30. Nice match with some good back-and-forth and McIntyre basing well for Bourne's offense. This could easily fill a TV segment on Raw delivering some good action showcasing two under-utilized stars.

Macho Man Randy Savage dies in car accident

"Macho Man" Randy Savage, a professional wrestler who became a fan favorite thanks to his outlandish outfits and trademark catchphrase, died Friday in a car wreck, as first reported by TMZ.

The 58-year-old Savage -- whose legal name was Randy Mario Poffo -- reportedly suffered a heart attack while driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler in Tampa, Fla., and careened across lanes of oncoming traffic before colliding head-on with a tree. He died later at a local hospital.

Savage's wife Lynn, who was riding in the passenger seat, escaped with only minor injuries. Both passengers were wearing seatbelts and the police do not believe alcohol was a factor.

The World Wrestling Federation favorite from Ohio burst onto the scene in 1985 and quickly drew attention with his flamboyant outfits and "ooh yeah!" catchphrase. His marriage to Elizabeth Hulette, Ms. Elizabeth to fans, was one of the first high-profile wrestler/valet relationships. They divorced in 1992. Savage remarried last year.

He won two WWF championships in his career. His match against Ricky Steamboat in 1987's Wrestlemania III is considered one of the best WWF bouts ever. Savage won the title late that year, setting the stage for memorable battles with Hulk Hogan, who would eventually dethrone him as champion.

World Wrestling Entertainment released an official statement on Friday afternoon.

"WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of one of the greatest Superstars of his time, Randy Poffo, aka Randy "Macho Man" Savage.

One of Macho Man's biggest rivals was Hulk Hogan. Hogan said he and Savage had just started talking again after 10 years.

"He had so much life in his eyes & in his spirit, I just pray that he's happy and in a better place and we miss him," Hogan wrote.

Savage also appeared in memorable ads for Slim Jim and played a wrestler in the 2002 hit film "Spider-Man."

1 – CHRISTIAN vs. SHEAMUS

During Christian’s entrances, they showed Josh Mathews, Michael Cole and Josh Mathews on camera. They had an inset interview with Sheamus during his interview. Sheamus laid a few knees into the head of Christian within the first 30 seconds of the match. Christian came back by jumping over the ropoes and punching Sheamus, who was caught up in the ropes. Hard back elbow by Sheamus. Christian countered Sheamus, and he went over the top and to the outside. Christian ducked under Sheamus, who was on the apron, and pulled his leg out from under him. Sheamus pushed Christian off the top rope, where he was seated, and Christian tumbled to the outside. They went to break with just under 3:00 gone by in the match.

Back at 6:30 of the match. Big bodyslam by Sheamus for a two-count. Hard forearms across the chest of Christian. Sheamus wrenched the neck, but Christian came back with right hands. He smoothly countered a slam into a reverse DDT for two. To the top when Christian, and he landed a cross-body for a two-count. Springboard sunset flip by Christian for two, but as both men reached their feet, Christian was taken down with an Irish Hammer by Sheamus. Christian flipped out of a suplex but ran into an Irish Curse back-breaker. Christian again sat on the top rope, and fought off Sheamus. Tornado DDT at 11:15. He then went for a cover, and got two. Dive over the top rope and a shoulderblock by Sheamus for two. Sheamus went for his finisher, but Christian registered a small package for the three-count.

WINNER: Christian, at 12:14. Good win for Christian heading into Over the Limit.

After the match, Mark Henry ran out. He and Sheamus proceeded to beat-down Christian. Randy Orton came out slowly, and paced a bit on the stage. He watched the punishment, then ran to the ring. He took out Sheamus, then pushed Henry aside, and he fell through the middle rope. Cole nicely mentioned Orton was conflicted about helping: He said he wanted Christian at 100%, but part of him wanted Christian softened up for Sunday.

2 – BRIE BELLA vs. NATALYA

Brie snuck out the back of a slam by Natalya as Booker ranted about biscuits and syrup in regards to Kharma. Natalya rolled into Brie and got a one-count. Brie slammed Natalya’s hand off the mat, then worked in an arm-bar. Nattie powered out and both women struggled to get to their feet at 1:35. Hard clothesline by Natalya. Discuss clothesline by Natalya, which Cole said was “shades of Jim Neidhart.” As I struggled to remember The Anvil doing that move, Booker asked “…what?” and he also said he never saw Neidhart do that move. Brie snuck into the ropes and kicked Natalya in the knee. Face-buster by Brie for the win.

WINNER: Brie, at 3:02. I don’t know if Natalya would be the one I’d feed to Brie heading into her PPV title match, but Nattie did what she could to keep the match together.

3 – EZEKIEL JACKSON & THE BIG SHOW & KANE vs. THE CORRE

Gabriel drew the short straw to work with Big Show first. Kane was next to go after Gabriel. Gabriel finally tagged out to Slater, who walked into a right hand. Slater tried to leap over Kane, but he landed on Kane’s shoulder. He got down and tagged Barrett. Jackson begged for a tag. The two went toe-to-toe, with Barrett kicking Jackson in the stomach. Jackson ended up clotheslining Barrett over the top rope. Corre attempted to regroup on the outside as they went to break.

The babyfaces were still in control out of break. Corre tried to run interference, but it wasn’t successful. Jackson came in and powered Gabriel down. Once Jackson got the better of Barrett, he tagged out. Kane came off the top with a clothesline. Sidewalk slam for a two-count. Kane was taken to the outside and at 8:10, Gabriel dove over the top and onto him. Barrett tagged in, but his cover was unsuccessful. Slater tried to keep Kane down with a side headlock. Kane suplexed out of it, but Slater made the tag before Kane could capitalize. Barrett came in and he and Kane did the double big-boot spot just short of ten minutes in. Slater came in and pounded on Kane in the corner. Both men made hot tags, and Jackson slammed Gabriel a number of times. Things broke down at the 11:00 mark. Show chokeslammed Slater, then Jackson scoop slammed Gabriel. He got Gabriel in a Torture Rack, and Gabriel tapped.

WINNERS: Jackson, Show, and Kane, at 11:30. There were a lot of very limited guys in there, but they did the best they could.

4 – CHAVO GUERRERO vs. DANIEL BRYAN

The five minute clock was in the bottom left-hand corner of the ring, counting down to zero. Bryan avoided right hand in the corner and Chavo took his time to size up Bryan. High dropkick by Bryan on Chavo, who appears to somehow grow more hair on his head the older he gets. Whip into the buckle by Bryan, but he got caught with Chavo’s boots as he charged in. European uppercut by Chavo. Side suplex followed that as Mathews tried to wade through Cole and Booker’s arguing to call the match. Bryan elbowed out of a side headlock. Chavo rolled through a sunset flip for two. Diving clothesline by Bryan, who followed that with kicks to the chest. Cover for two. Bryan attempted the LeBell Lock with 1:22 remaining. Chavo reached the ropes with his foot, forcing a break. Chavo rolled out as the clock reached 1:00. Bryan dove through the ropes and into Chavo. Chavo dodged dropkick off the top and made a cover for two. He went into the Three Amigos vertical suplexes, not a great idea for a guy with under :30 in the match. Chavo went to the top and landed the frog splash with nine seconds left. Bryan kicked out of the first one, a surprise, then Chavo went for another cover with four seconds to go. Bryan kicked out again to end things.

WINNER: Bryan, at 5:00. Nice twist with the ending of Bryan kicking out of the frogsplash. It would’ve been nice to see Chavo go over someone strong heading into the PPV, since he hasn’t won in so long.

Chavo got pissed and threw Bryan into the ring post. Sin Cara then came out, wearing his new t-shirt. He trampolined into the ring, then took Chavo out of the ring with a headscissors.

5 – TED DIBIASE vs. TRENT BARRETA

DiBiase did a slingshot clothesline and went for a cover, only getting two. Barreta went to the top and did a corckscrew…something onto DiBiase. I guess it was supposed to be a kick, according to Booker. Enziguiri by Barreta, but a Tornado DDT was turned into a spinebuster. Dream Street and that was it.

WINNER: DiBiase, at 1:26. Nice to get DiBiase back on track, and the relationship with DiBiase and Rhodes is intriguing.

6 -- World Hvt. champion RANDY ORTON vs. MARK HENRY -- non-title match

Back with Henry on the apron, and Orton dropkicking Henry to ringside. Henry regained control in the ring. Two headbutts by Henry put Orton’s back on the mat. Orton began to fight back at the 7:25 mark, and landed two knee-drops. Orton stalked Henry, and got down to pound the mat for the RKO. But Henry exited the ring before Orton could get to him. As Orton readied for the rope-assisted DDT, Sheamus ran in for the DQ.

WINNER: Orton, via DQ, at 8:30.

Christian walked out to the ramp, like Orton did in the first segment, and just waited. The heels choked Orton in the corner as Christian surveyed the scene. Then, he ran to the ring to help Orton out. He got rid of Sheamus and Orton tripped Henry up in the corner. Orton and Christian were standing tall in the ring as the crowd chanted “RKO.” Orton saw Christian and shoved him. The two exchanged words, then Sheamus attacked Christian from behind. Henry and Orton traded blows, ugly blows at that. Christian threw Sheamus out again and Orton RKO’d Henry. Then he leaped in the air, doing a mid-air split, and did some weird fist-pumping celebration that looked totally out of character, but also would make an awesome .gif. Orton had the belt, and he and Christian went face-to-face to end the show.
