WWE RAW Results: 3-14-11
Results courtesy of PWTorch.com (direct link to Caldwell's complete report). Condensed here to in-ring results only.
1 -- WWE champion THE MIZ vs. GREAT KHALI (w/Runjin Singh) -- non-title match
Back from break, the bell sounded as Cole ranted & raved about this being unfair. Khali shoved Miz across the ring, then landed a chop to the chest, followed by a giant chop to the head. Khali followed with an attempted head-squeeze vice, but Miz grabbed the top rope for a break. Suddenly, Alex Riley stormed the ring and tried to attack Khali, causing a DQ. The announcers noted Riley was fired.
WINNER: Khali via DQ at 1:10. Miz looked bad during the match, but returned to the same level he entered with the post-match bashing. It was only impressive because of Khali's size since Khali hasn't done anything credible in WWE in a few years. (n/a)
2 -- U.S. champion DANIEL BRYAN (w/Gail Kim) vs. SHEAMUS -- U.S. Title match -- Sheamus will "quit" if he loses
Mathews wondered if there's a KOTR curse. Cole said past winners have struggled. He failed to cite evidence supporting his claim as Bryan knocked Sheamus to the floor, then flew through the ropes with a big suicide dive. Bryan pounded the mat to sell his fire before rolling Sheamus back into the ring. Bryan came off the top with a double-foot dropkick and scored a nearfall. Sheamus then rolled to the outside to contemplate what was going wrong as they cut to break.
Back from break, Sheamus was in control trying to keep his career alive. Sheamus pounded on Bryan with clubbing strikes to the chest, then again. Sheamus followed with a running knee below the chin, then scored a nearfall. Bryan suddenly scored a nearfall, then dumped Sheamus to the floor. Sheamus started selling the ankle from last week as the announcers wondered if Sheamus's career was in trouble. Sheamus made his way into the ring, then ref Armstrong held Bryan back to chck on Sheamus. Sheamus tried to nail the Brogue Kick, but Bryan ducked and slapped on the LeBell Lock. Sheamus managed to make it to the bottom rope just in time, though.
Sheamus, apparently playing opossum on the ankle (which the announcers missed), wanted the High Cross, but Bryan rolled through into a sunset flip for a close two count. Bryan and Sheamus then started trading bombs, then Bryan nailed multiple strikes via forearm and kick. Bryan then set up Sheamus to deliver rapid-fire kicks to the chest, then one to the head. Cole said he could be out cold and Bryan made a cover, but Sheamus kicked out. Bryan then went up top for a big high-risk move, but Sheamus countered with a sick mid-air Brogue Kick that floored Bryan. Sheamus then draped an arm over Bryan's chest for the pin and the win. Sheamus is the U.S. champion.
WINNER: Sheamus at 8:59 to capture the U.S. Title. Heck of a physical match with something on the line, the audience buying into the high-stakes match, and Bryan once again delivering great action in a long-form TV match. WWE just raised the profile of the Bryan vs. Sheamus feud, likely setting up the re-match at WrestleMania. Not long enough to be three-stars, but right there. (**3/4)
3 -- RANDY ORTON vs. MASON RYAN (w/C.M. Punk)
Orton blasted Ryan with early right hand blows before Ryan responded with a kick to the gut. Orton with a clothesline, then Ryan with a boot to the face. Aggressive start. Ryan followed with a backbreaker across his knee for a two count. Ryan then applied a bear hug as the crowd chanted, "Let's Go Randy." Orton escaped, then hit a big clothesline, but Ryan came back with a side effect/uranage for a two count. Ryan did the classic big-man grunt look before staring at the WrestleMania sign. He wanted his finisher, but Orton spun him around and nailed the RKO out of nowhere for the pin. On the stage, Punk slapped his hands in disgust with it now officially one-on-one between Orton and Punk with no Nexus involvement.
WINNER: Orton at 3:01. Fine to finish the Orton vs. Nexus series with a hot hometown crowd for Orton. (*)
4 -- TRISH STRATUS vs. VICKIE GUERRERO -- Vickie hired to Raw if she wins
Vickie did some jumping jacks to warm herself up, then Trish nearly ended the match with a small package that resulted in a two count. With Vickie in trouble, Dolph Ziggler ran out to stand between Trish and Vickie. Morrison stormed out behind Ziggler and cleared him to the outside before nailing a big corkscrew splash over the top rope. Big pop for Morrison. Lay-Cool then stormed the ring and attacked Trish. Apparently it's No DQ. In any event, Lay-Cool decked Trish and helped Vickie pin Trish to win her job.
WINNER: Vickie at 2:30.
5 -- JOHN CENA vs. ALBERTO DEL RIO (w/Brodus Clay)
At five minutes into the over-run, the match started with a basic collar & elbow tie-up. Mathews plugged the Kmart-sponsored live event tour, which didn't match up with the tone of a main event match. Cole suddenly said he has it on good authority that The Rock is here tonight in St. Louis. Cena knocked Del Rio to the floor and they cut to break.
Back from break, Del Rio stalked Cena and landed a dropkick for a two count. Mathews quizzed Cole on his Rock claim, and Cole simply said Mathews will see. Cena powered out of a headlock with a back-drop and Brodus tried to pound the mat to encourage Del Rio. Both men slowly made their way to the feet selling like they were at the 13-minute mark rather than six minutes in. A double knock down led to another slow climb-to-their-feet. Cena and Del Rio traded bombs center-ring and Cena built some momentum leading to the shoulder tackles, sit-out slam, and Five Knuckle Shuffle. Del Rio then came to his feet and spun into the Attitude Adjustment, but Clay stormed the ring and attacked Cena for a DQ.
WINNER: Cena via DQ at 7:21. Basic stuff here. Del Rio's in-ring work isn't main event-level yet to match his charisma and personality. (*1/4)

Ring of Honor TV Results: 3-14-11
Results courtesy of ProWrestling.net (direct link to Shore's complete report). Condensed here to in-ring results only.
1. The Bravado Brothers defeated Grizzly Redwood and Bobby Dempsey at 4:20. Harlem and Dempsey started. Dempsey hit a headbut on Harlem and tagged in Grizzly. Harlem punched Grizzly and he and Lance worked quickly in and out. They hit a combo neckbreaker and continued to toss the little guy around.
Grizzly finally made the hot tag and Dempsey worked a house of fire on both Bravados. He slammed both guys around and picked up Harlem. Harlem grabbed the ref and slid off Bobby's shoulders. Lance hit a crossbody that Bobby caught, but he fell over Harlem for the pinfall victory…
Shore's Slant: Fun opening match. I really like the Bravados and think they have a big future. Plus, I hear they might be coming South in the near future, so that would be awesome.
2. Davey Richards defeated Tony Kozina in a Pancration rules match at 4:13. Jim Cornette and Kyle O'Reilly worked on commentary for this match. The rules are basically no closed fists to the head and the match ends by submission or knockout. It's a little more than that, but that's the gist. Kozina is a training partner with Richards.
Richards hit a roundhouse to drop Kozina at the start. Kozina made the count and they worked like an MMA match. They got closer and traded palm strikes to the head and Kozina hit a Saito suplex. Davey made the count and they wrestled down to the flor. Davey hit a knee to the face and mounted Kozina, hitting strikes. The ref stopped for a TKO finish.
Shore's Slant: Interesting concept. It would take some time for fans to get used to, but it could be something interesting long term. O'Reilly was very good on commentary with Cornette.
3. Tomasso Ciampa (w/The Embassy) defeated Mike Sydal at 2:22. Ciampa hit a dropkick before the bell to start the match. He slammed Sydal into the turnbuckle and tossed him to the floor. Princess Mia ran over and beat the hell out of Sydal and then a Superkick in high heels. Wow. Sydal climbed back in the ring and hit a few kicks, but Ciampa hit a huge powerbomb for the win…
Shore's Slant: Ciampa looked pretty good, nothing terribly impressive except he's pretty agile for a big guy. I'm interested to see how he develops.
4. "The Prodigy" Mike Bennett (w/Brutal Bob) defeated Kyle O'Reilly to win the Top Prospect Tournament at 10:04. O'Reilly and Bennett mat wrestled to start with O'Reilly getting the best with a reverse armbreaker. Bennett made the rope and hit a dropkick. He went to the apron and drove O'Reilly into the turnbuckle. He tried for a clothesline, but Kyle kicked him to the floor. Kyle whipped Bennett to the railing and then hit a dropkick from the apron.
Kyle turned his attention to Bob and Bennett attacked from behind. They battled to the ramp and Bennett hit a DDT on the steel. The ref started the count and Kyle took 19 seconds to finally get back in. Bennett stomped a mud hole in the corner and worked the back.
Kyle flipped out of the rest hold and attacked Bennett with strikes and kicks. Bennett ducked one kick, but O'Reilly kicked him in the back of the head for two. Bennett came back with a spinebuster for a near fall. O'Reilly basically no sold it and came back with a kick to the head, followed by a missile drop kick for two.
O'Reilly jumped on Bennett's back and botched spinning around and fell. He managed to lock in the triangle choke, but Bennett flipped over for a pin attempt. O'Reilly kicked out and locked in a front guillotine choke. Bennett sold it for a while and the ref checked. On the third arm drop, Bennett stood up and hit a sidewalk slam for the win.

WWE NXT Results: 3-15-11
Results courtesy of PWTorch.com (direct link to Caldwell's complete report). Condensed here to in-ring results and redemption challenges.
The cast of Season Five of WWE NXT (Pros):
-- Darren Young (Chavo Guerrero)
-- Jacob Novak (JTG)
-- Byron Saxton (Yoshi Tatsu)
-- Conor O'Brian (Kozlov)
-- Lucky Cannon (Tyson Kidd)
-- Titus O'Neil (Hornswoggle)
1 -- CONOR O'BRIAN (w/Kozlov) vs. DARREN YOUNG (w/Chavo Guerrero)
Conor aggressively rammed Young shoulder-first into the ringpost early in the match. Young recovered on the floor before Conor rolled him back into the ring for a nearfall. Conor continued to work over Young's left shoulder before Young came back with an atomic drop. Regal noted the Rookie Mistakes from both men as they traded offense. Young then busted out a fallaway gutbuster ala Roderick Strong and scored the pin on Conor for the win. On the stage, Hornswoggle and the Pros jotted down notes on their clipboards as Regal noted the strong finishing move for Young. Young then mimicked everyone else on the roster pointing to the WrestleMania banner hanging in the arena.
WINNER: Young at 2:59. Conor just isn't very convincing in the ring, while Young is essentially the ringer of NXT having already worked with top stars on the roster.
2 -- LUCKY CANNON & TYSON KIDD vs. YOSHI TATSU & BYRON SAXTON
Lucky and Kidd were already in the ring, which wasn't a good sign. The babyface duo came out as Grisham noted Yoshi was wrestling with a heavy heart considering the situation in Japan. Regal said you have to set that aside and take care of business when you come to work. Yoshi quickly knocked down Kidd, played to the crowd, and kicked Kidd in the gut. Lucky then took a cheap shot at Yoshi, giving the heels the advantage on Yoshi. The crowd chanted for Yoshi and rallied behind him, leading to Yoshi scoring with a knock-down clothesline.
Saxton then hot-tagged into the match and cleaned house on Kidd. Saxton lost control, then Cannon tagged himself into the match. Kidd, stunned, watched as Cannon entered the ring and scored with sort of a front slam on Saxton. Apparently that's his finisher, as it was good for the pin. Post-match: Kidd expressed frustration with Cannon for trying to take over. Kidd told Cannon to get on the same page with him and Cannon acted apologetic.
WINNERS: Kidd & Cannon at 4:08. Completely forgettable tag match, but fine for NXT
Titus O'Neil won the Talk the Talk and St. Patrick's Day Keg Carry challenges for 2 points each.
Updated Redemption Standings:
Titus O'Neil - 4
Darren Young - 3

WWE RAW Results: 3-28-11
Results courtesy of PWTorch.com (direct link to Caldwell's complete report). In-ring results posted with a quick glance at the WM hypes (*) since there was a whole lotta talking in this one, getting everyone geared up for WM.
* CM Punk and Randy Orton started the yak-fest in the opening segment.
1 -- World Hvt. champion EDGE & CHRISTIAN vs. ALBERTO DEL RIO & BRODUS CLAY
Edge is putting his 15-match TV & PPV winning streak on the line here. Edge and Clay started things off against each other. Edge and Christian exchanged tags back and forth trying to wear down the big man. E&C then dumped Clay over the top rope and executed more double-team offense on the floor. Mathews fed to a break with the faces in control.
Back from break, Del Rio had Christian in a nerve hold trying to wear him down on the mat. Del Rio and Clay tagged in and out working over Christian. Meanwhile, Mathews was practicing for his call of WrestleMania as Cole & Lawler filled time arguing with each other leading to their WrestleMania match. Christian then caught Del Rio with a Tornado DDT and crawled across the desert to make the hot tag to Edge. Clay also tagged in.
Edge dropped Clay with a sit-out slam, then got that crazy look in his eyes wanting the Spear. The crowd popped, but Del Rio yanked Edge down from the floor. Christian and Del Rio battled on the floor, then Edge and Del Rio reset in the ring. Edge ducked a clothesline and nailed the Spear on Clay for the pin and the win.
Post-match: Edge's music played, so he didn't see Del Rio trying to snap Christian's arm with the cross arm-breaker ringside. Edge then ran to the outside to run off Del Rio, who disappeared to the back. Edge started to walk back to Christian, but Del Rio attacked him from behind. Del Rio then slapped on the cross arm-breaker and Edge tapped out furiously. Cole noted if Edge taps out on Sunday, Del Rio will be new World champion.
WINNERS: Christian & Edge at 8:16. Fine tag match giving Smackdown's top title match a spotlight leading to Mania and putting Edge in jeopardy of losing the title. (*1/2)
2 -- SANTINO (w/Tamina, Kozlov, Big Show, and Kane) vs. WWE tag champion JUSTIN GABRIEL (w/The Corre)
Interesting match-up. Gabriel scored an early nearfall, then Santino fired back with right hand strikes. Santino delivered the sailor's salute fist drop, then taunted the Corre with the Cobra. Action outside the ring dominated the proceedings before Santino dropped Gabriel with the super-over Cobra strike for the pin.
Afterward, Show did Santino's customary post-match trumpet salute. Kane stared him down, questioning Show. Show sheepishly kept doing the trumpet, then Kane paused and decided to do the trumpet with a big smirk on his face. Yes, that happened. Everyone had a good laugh, then Kane back-flipped out of the ring.
WINNER: Santino at 1:52. Quick match to save some for WrestleMania, although Corre wasn't made to look impressive here. And Kane's character has officially jumped the shark, although it seems like that's been said about eight times before. (n/a)
* Undertaker came to the ring, interrupted by Triple H, then both interrupted by Shawn Michaels. Intense get-toether with the three that shows everyone how to sell WrestleMania.
3 -- JERRY LAWLER vs. JACK SWAGGER (w/Michael Cole)
Lawler took a swipe at Cole, who avoided it, then Swagger took it to Lawler. Swagger threw Lawler over the ringside barrier before celebrating a bit prematurely. Lawler retrieved a chair while he was ringside and cracked it over Swagger's back to earn a DQ. Lawler landed another chair shot, then taunted Cole with it. Mathews told Lawler he can't do it. Instead, Lawler smashed the Cole Mine with the chair before trying to climb over the box to get at Cole. Cole's "security" held off Lawler, then Cole threw a beverage over the wall toward Lawler. Cole stood up and told him he's a loser. Loud "Jerry, Jerry" chant as Lawler slowly wiped the beverage off his face. "Wait 'til Sunday," Cole said. "I'm going to embarrass you!"
WINNER: Swagger via DQ at 1:16. More strong build-up for one of the key matches at Mania where Lawler will finally be able to get his hands on Cole. (n/a)
4 -- U.S. champion SHEAMUS & DOLPH ZIGGLER (w/Vickie Guerrero) vs. DANIEL BRYAN & JOHN MORRISON
Sheamus cut off Morrison's early momentum and they cut to break 40 seconds into the match.
Back from break, Morrison was wildly selling as Bryan desperately called for a tag. Sheamus resumed an attack focusing on Morrison's back and the crowd tried a slow clap to warm up Morrison. The announcers plugged the six-person tag at WrestleMania before Morrison finally made the hot tag to Bryan. As soon as Bryan hot-tagged, WWE decided it was a good time to start plugging the WWE Live Event tour sponsored by Kmart. Bryan had Ziggler locked in the LeBell Lock, but Sheamus broke it up. The action broke down into a four-man brawl. Bodies flew everywhere, then Bryan teased the LeBell Lock on Sheamus, who avoided it. Sheamus then wanted the "Pale Justice" Outsider's Edge-like maneuver and he connected. Sheamus with the pin on Bryan for the win.
WINNERS: Sheamus & Ziggler at 6:15. Decent dose of athleticism, but not too much given away ahead of Mania. (*1/4)
* Last 20 minutes of the show was Cena, Miz and the Rock. Show ended 19 minutes past.

WWE NXT Results: 3-29-11
Results courtesy of PWTorch.com (direct link to Caldwell's complete report). Alas, there was only one match on the show and the redemption contest is a 2 man race between O'Neil (9 pts) and Young (7 pts).
1 -- CONOR O'BRIAN & TITUS O'NEIL & BYRON SAXTON vs. LUCKY CANNON & DARREN YOUNG & JACOB NOVAK
As the Rookies traded basic holds, the sharply-dressed Pros were shown on-stage evaluating the Rookies. After trying to remember the Russian's name, Regal noted Kozlov stood out for not being sharply dressed in jeans and a t-shirt. The announcers discussed Titus having the physique, but needing to connect with the audience or he won't last long in WWE. With Saxton isolated, Titus pretended to be upset with the ref for not catching the default heel trio's pretend heelish tactics.
Titus eventually took a tag to no reaction and cleaned house with power offense. Naturally, the action broke down moments later, then Titus finished off Novak with his sit-out slam finisher for the pin and the win. Hornswoggle was quite excited on-stage. After a replay of Titus finishing of Novak, they cut back to Titus, Saxton, and O'Brian standing tall in the ring. Grisham signed off and said they would see everyone in Atlanta for WrestleMania 27.
WINNERS: Team Titus at 6:30. Your basic, ordinary FCW quality match with everyone trying to play a role. But, since the matches are of no consequence on NXT, no one will remember this.
