it is about time we Bullet hell game lovers get our own thread now don't we? ;D

my favorite SHMUP or Bullet Hell shooter games are:

Axelay: old timer that is still one of the toughest games i have
Castle Shikigami 2: nonstop bullets, adjustable difficulty settings, kickass bossbattles with great BGM's (especially the fight against Shintarou/Kintarou which is completely awesome' and 2 player mode make this the most fun SHMUP i've played sofar. I also like the anime stuff in this game (too bad that the Playstation 2 version doesn't have the anime movies that the arcade one has v.v)

least favorite one

R type Final.....extreme difficulty but there is a lot of moments where nothing happens for a long time causing me to yawn multiple times in each level

so the gamecube still gets new games eh? ^^

I've been wanting to check out Ikaruga, it sounded fun with being able to change the color of your ship to absorb bullets of the same color and having to use that ability to stay alive was pretty original.

Kotarou is indeed a score master and was my first character but he was rather weak in everything besides scoring so i ditched him. Sayo....i've heard of her extremely powerfull hyperfire but i don't like her so i haven't tried her out yet. Fumiko and Genojo i just couldn't seem to handle and Genojo really is crap. Kim is my character now but i want to change to another one for more challenge, Sasuke looks interesting altough Niigi could be fun too. Favorite bosses wold Yukari with the cards and her last stage is WTF! with all those big meteors. Shintarou is my favorite of all the bosses since he can copy all the specials of your characters and he has this awesome bgm. Dandeon's last stage (where he throws six weapons) is quite tricky so i usually use a bomb v.v
