ahhh....Show content so the little birdie is for Himawari, and what's the effect again..?Himawari's curse doesn't work on it, so Himawari got a little new friend or its function to nullify Himawari's curse so she won't be bad luck to everyone again..?

Show content From what I've read, the little bird won't be affected by Himawari's curse, but it won't protect her curse from people around her. Only the birdy is immune to the curse. So yes, she has a little friend that she can be with. I'm so happy for her ^^

Show contentSo the bird is immune to Himawari's influence. An immortal(?), impervious pet for Watanuki's friend. I think she's going to cry even more when she sees that cute little thing.
Also, Doumeki being immune to Himawari's influence. That explains a lot of little things throughout the manga. Himawari asked Doumeki to help Watanuki with the Angel-san case. She gave her hair ribbons to Doumeki instead of Watanuki (Clamp gave us a Watanuki spaz to distract from any significance there). The way Himawari invited Doumeki to join whatever Watanuki invited her to (as well as the fact that she would back out of a lot at the last minute) makes me almost certain that she knew Doumeki would keep Watanuki safe from her influence.
When I was reading chou_addicted's translation and read Watanuki talking about how Himawari would feel about him paying to get rid of her problem. . . Well, I could only think that he remembered how Doumeki reacted with the whole eye/spider thing. On that DouxWata note I have to add that I do think the bird is further proof that Watanuki is not interested in Himawari romantically.
