Well, it's different with age groups and situation. One is almost always formal when meeting someone older than them, but not their same age unless it's a formal situation. (Meaning, if your first meeting is at a bar or social event, that is much different than if your first meeting is at work or school.)

pretty much that's what i'm looking for..thnx =D dont know why..i just had the urge to learn the greeting XD
also, i think pronounciation is a common problem for many non-jap..sometimes you just dont know how to say a certain word, even if it's already spelled out XD
