the more formal version of 'nice to meet you' is 'dozo yoroshiku onegai shimasu'?

REALLY formal first meeting saying:
Hajimemashite, watashi no namae wa (your name) desu. Douzo yoroshiku. ((Usually bow while saying the second part))
But if you do it like that, it may be a little too formal... It depends on who you're introducing yourself to, really.

just thought that Japanese are usually very polite.. so usually, the first meeting (to strangers/superiors) are always formal?
