Harry Potter - Book vs. Movie
Emiko:
Personally I prefer the books, although movies 3 and 4 both brought forth certain elements that I really liked.
Though I think after book 4, Harry Potter kind of lost it's charm for me. Somehow, after 4, it started getting more melodramatic and dark. I thought I'd like it if HP was a little darker, but it turns out "dark" storytelling really wasn't why I started reading HP in the first place. -_-
I still read them, of course, but I haven't been very happy with the books that have come out after Goblet of Fire. They're better-written, but they somehow have less heart.
Ehm... to me, anyway, I'm sure a lot of people out there loved them. Just not me.
Jeannette:
I think pretty much everyone loves the books a lot more than the movies. (sweatdrop)
And... the third movie... I have a love/hate relationship with it. I hate that they cut out so many important parts of the books, like over half the backstory. The ENTIRE point of the third book, taken in the perspective of the series, is to give the backstory. And the movie cut it to the bare bones. Also, Show content it really annoys me that they have Harry see Peter Pettigrew on the Marauder's Map halfway through the movie. It's a big hint to the truth of the situation. Even still, it was really good.
And I think the fourth movie was all but perfect. It's the best one yet, to me.
