It's getting the screenshots thats the main problem, since with my software I can't take screenshots with the picture, only a big black box.

You can open the video in virtual dub (If virtual dub is able to read the format), and it allows you to view the videos frame by frame. You can scroll to the frame you want to screenshot and press ctrl + 1. That will copy the current frame onto the clipboard. Next, open a new file in Adobe Imageready (it will be automatically resized to the screenshot you have taken) and just paste it. (The time between each frame should be either no delay or 0.1 sec.) Do that for every 2-3 frames, and choose save optimised as. (You may want to resize the image if it's big.) Um, am I making sense?
monkey:
yes, because I know all that.
let me rephrase:
My PC runs so you cannot take screenshots on any video playing unless it's an actual feature in the player, Many other PCs are of same software, I'm aware of this, I also already have a program that takes screenshots but because the scene I want to copy is fast, I can't go frame by frame slow enough, So when I get home I'll be sure to try out the program you posted. I'm not at my PC right now so I'm talking about what I'm experiancing on that, Saying that I've had experiance with Image Ready creating several animated GIFs with it from just loading the avi file directly into Image Ready and only selecting a bit of it, I've done this and used layers and size changes, cuts and timing. If I go back to my original question, I was wondering what Rapid Shots where, It sounds like it takes several screenshots so you don't have to go through the usual hassle of importing it and exporting it. Right now I'm on a MAC at College, and If I could bring my episodes of FLCL in here I could easily make what I want since Mac hard/software is designed for artwork anyway and the programs are generally pretty straightforward (especially since it has the major programs installed already, Adobe, iMac software and micosoft programs).
I've just started to watch FLCL yesterday, It's really cool, I've seen the first two episodes now, a few more to go :D

Oh, there's a way to solve the black box effect on windows media player. :)
First, open WMP, then
tools>options>performance
under video acceleration, choose something other than full video acceleration and click apply
You should be able to take screenshots of the video without the balck box effect now.
It reduces the quality of the video though.(but not that obvious)
And I do not know what are Rapid Shots too. XD
monkey:
Yes I know that too, But I don't want it on anything lower than It's highest Performance because in my house at home, we don't like anything less than the highest performance of vdeo and audio we can get. And I did try that before and I didn't like the quality of it at all anyway, So I am not changing those settings.

Oh, so that's why I couldn't make screenshots with WMP... I thought for the longest time that it was a WMP bug, but now I guess I'll try that :).
