I'm sorry to hear that you lost so many files. If you describe some specific things then out of all of us here we may be able to get most of what you lost.
As for the people in the southern US, there are people working around the clock to help them recover their losses. All we can do for them is donate things and hope everything works out.

the other time i format my laptop without saving my mp3s (about 2GB worth!)!! *sigh* years of collection just gone like that.. i was very sad for a week...
try your best to 'google' the pictures back!
